On the May Bank Holiday Weekend Bud Garden Centre will host something unique, an exhibit of bonsai trees, presented in traditional Japanese format. These trees represent decades, if not centuries, of careful cultivation, with the aim of capturing the essence of the tree in many of it’s guises and forms. These artistic creations will be displayed collectively, but also individually and in groups.
The displays will be judged by one of Ireland’s leading bonsai teachers, Ian Young, according to a number of technical and artistic criteria. The public will also have a chance to choose their favourite.
On Saturday and Sunday there will be an on going bonsai demonstration and presentation open to all including a Walk Through and Critique hosted by Ian.
Bonsai enthusiasts will be on hand through-out to answer questions and explain the techniques behind the art of bonsai.
On Monday (May 6th), Ian will also host a paid Kusamono workshop (SEE HERE).
The weekend rounds off with a formal Bonsai Talk and Presentation. Entry is FREE.
